"As a firm believer of two wheeled luggage over spinner style, this one is the best I’ve ever purchased. Expandability is excellent and it glides perfectly over Europe’s cobblestone streets and uneven surfaces. Having the bag behind me also keeps fellow travelers out of my personal space when in cue for an airplane. "Because my Global 22 inch carryon has proven unfailingly reliable for at least a decade of weekly use plus trans continental flights and AmTrack, each of my mission serving grandsons and now my granddaughter receive one along with the medium Baseline expandable. Department store brands do not survive a mission. The medium expandables meet foreign flight size requirements. I recently enjoyed a two week visit with family in Nevada and in Florida. Not a carry-on for most US airlines

"I don’t understand why this is marketed as a carry-on when it’s too wide for most US airlines. United, American, Delta, Alaska all require carry-ons to be 14” wide but this is 15” so it doesn’t fit in the overhead bins. I travel weekly for work and don’t check my bag so this was a complete a waste of money."

Great Size and Well Made

"I've had this bag for years, and I just got one for my husband. His is a beautiful navy (not available when I got mine). These are classy, very well made bags and can hold a lot yet still fit in most overhead bins. They roll smoothly--2 wheels is so much better than 4, as the bag won't roll away if you let go on a slope. Our son has an older version that's a bit smaller (which we'd prefer), and it still looks new after 8 years of use all around the world. Best. Luggage. Ever."

What Material is this made from? I'm looking at the Strong Bags and LuggageWorks alternatives as I'm a pilot so this bag will see a lot of use and they both state they're made from ballistic nylon. What is your lightest weight 21" suitcase?: Good Morning Martha, Thank you for contacting Briggs & Riley. The lightest 21" bag that we have would be our ZDX collection carry on.
Can the bag be left in the expanded state if full packed and wanting to use it as checked luggage?: Good Morning Warrigal, Thank you for contacting Briggs & Riley. The bag is not made to be used in the expanded state. There is no lock on the compassion plates that will hold the bag in the expanded plate in place. If something heavy is placed on the bag the bag will compress.
The dimensional diagram in the photos indicated the width at 14". However the Specs section lists it at 15". Please confirm correct dimension, as I am evaluating this product for use on US Domestic flights were the width limit is often 14".: Good Morning, Thank you for contacting Briggs & Riley.
