A bit heavier than I expected

"I purchased this bag to replace a two-wheeled large suitcase. The new bag is heavier than I expected. When I read the specs I didn't think that a bag that weighs 10 lbs empty would be that much of an issue, but due to the weight, it was definitely harder to lug up and down stairs compared to the bag it replaced. The new bag rolls well on uneven sidewalks and up and down curbs. I think it will take a while to get used to the duffle shape of the bag. It's not as wide as my old suitcase, but is deeper. Maneuvering it through crowds was not an issue, but I found it difficult to take on escalators. The good thing is that this bags holds the same if not more than my old large suitcase."

Great bag for how I like to travel!

"I bought this bag after my hard sided clamshell from another brand was destroyed by an airline. My experience with that bag taught me that while I like clamshells just fine for carryons, I do not like them for checked luggage. For me they take up too much space when open. Enter the rolling duffle. I love that there is separate space on the bottom of the bag for shoes, hair tools, toiletry bag, etc. that is easy to access, while still having a large compartment for clothes and other softer items (some people might use that bottom section to keep some clothes less wrinkled, but that is usually not a priority for me). What set this bag apart from a similar bag from another high-end luggage brand are: 1) The bottom compartment is shallower, and therefore easier to completely fill to support the divider and items in the top of the bag. The other bag I considered had a larger bottom compartment that would be difficult to fill properly with how I like to pack, and I could see myself just not ever using the divider, which would defeat some of the purpose of this style of bag. 2) There are tie down panels in the top portion of this bag. The other bag has the tie downs in the bottom section, making them inaccessible when using the divider panel. 3) This bag folds down so it takes up less room when being stored. I wish it came in colors other than black, but that is a minor complaint for a very well thought out and constructed bag."

Does this work for CarryOn for most US airlines?: Hi Brian, Thank you for contacting Briggs & Riley. I do apologize but this item is slightly to large to be a carry-on size bag. It is 27 x 14 x 16.5 in and most airlines only allow 22 x 14 x 9 in. as a carry-on item.
